Bez<p>An excerpt from my BGG designer diary for <a href="https://tabletop.social/tags/DrawnTogetherGame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DrawnTogetherGame</span></a>. </p><p>Feedback welcome.</p><p>===========<br>KS, marketing<br>===========</p><p>Sure, the quality of a game contributes to the sales. Better reviews. Word of mouth. Buying after trying.</p><p>But for a KS campaign, so much else also matters. The graphic design of the page. Your videos. Emails. The marketing.</p><p>And there's also a healthy dollop of luck.</p><p>I didn't maximise my chances of success (there is no KS video, for example, and I really could have written a designer diary weeks ago and told more folk about it). But I had also planned an emigration and sometimes it's important to not let 'great' be the enemy of 'done'. </p><p>It was a low-stakes KS with a negligible funding goal. I had sheets already done if there was minimal interest. The standard pledge level is low. </p><p>But what I am hopefully doing is creating a small community to help encourage me (and give me data) to keep making new sheets and improving older ones over the next year.</p><p>There will be no late pledge or anything like that for at least a year after this KS. That's why I made it last 60 days. </p><p>This is the 'early bird'. </p><p>Given digital distribution, I can make a new sheet and someone around the world might play it in the same day.
