This brought to you by learning today that I'll have four weeks to potentially find and see a new care team, get them to issue a new script to a new pharmacy benefit provider, get pre-approval for Skyrizi from said pharmacy provider, and get the med delivered by a new specialty pharmacy.

But I can't even find out yet if my doctors are in network with the new plan or if the benefits will even consider covering Skyrizi. So that's exciting.

It's #skyrizi injection day.
I missed the morning appointment on my calendar and just happened to have a mental spark of "isn't that supposed to happen today?"

So I clearly need to do something better with my reminders/appointments/thingamajigs.

Anyway, it's out and coming to room temperature.

Still better than having to drive 2 hours for a 3 hour IV infusion, then 2 hours back (and after Benadryl!) like I was doing for Inflectra.

Aren't bodies fun?

Wow!
Linking a particular bacteria of the gut microbiome in a chain that could potentially be a source of major depression. Follow up research could also show how environmental contaminants combined with the metabolism of the gut microbiome could be linked to autoimmune and other conditions.

Science is amazing!
Can't wait to see where this drives other future research and, eventually, treatments.

💊 If you are someone who relies on a prescription #medication... my advice is to start hoarding a backup supply. If there's overlap in your refill window or if you can safely skip a pill from time to time... it's a good idea to build up a stash for during times of unrest or supply chain problems.

Rotate the backup supply with fresh ones so they don't expire.

I had to dip into my backups during Covid & it really eased my anxiety about it.

As a veteran of colonoscopies, I’ve actually lost count, tomorrow’s is my 7th I think, this has to be the worst prep regime I’ve had yet. Usual drink of a litre of vile stuff 18:00-19:00 but the second lot is at 05:00-06:00 before the procedure at 08:30 - and I have to be in a taxi 06:15 to get there for 07:00. Not going to happen that. Will be later than 07:00 but last time there was a long time sitting about waiting anyway.

This is very serious business. Going on memory, my barber needed surgery because of long-term use of medication for Crohn's disease. He died of some complication from the surgery. He had the surgery, he seemed to be recovering well, and then, quite suddenly, he was gone.
