If we ever buy a place I am tiling the entire bathroom.
I have to bleach everything when we get home from the buttscoping.
GIs wouldn’t prescribe a double suprep if they had to clean up after it.
It's #skyrizi injection day.
I missed the morning appointment on my calendar and just happened to have a mental spark of "isn't that supposed to happen today?"
So I clearly need to do something better with my reminders/appointments/thingamajigs.
Anyway, it's out and coming to room temperature.
Still better than having to drive 2 hours for a 3 hour IV infusion, then 2 hours back (and after Benadryl!) like I was doing for Inflectra.
Aren't bodies fun?
Scientists at our university and LMU University Hospital Munich combine dietary therapy with fecal microbiome transfer to improve long-term treatment for #Crohns disease. By reshaping the #gutmicrobiome, they aim to sustain remission and reduce #inflammation: http://go.tum.de/395259

Wow!
Linking a particular bacteria of the gut microbiome in a chain that could potentially be a source of major depression. Follow up research could also show how environmental contaminants combined with the metabolism of the gut microbiome could be linked to autoimmune and other conditions.
Science is amazing!
Can't wait to see where this drives other future research and, eventually, treatments.

This explains A LOT in my medical history, how about you? The research going on in this field right now is super exciting. Hopefully it continues .

Skyrizi injection done.
A five minute process is so much easier than a three hour infusion. Or the one hour infusion at a facility two hours away that the initial Skyrizi startup process involved.
I like this - oral antibiotic challenge, microbiome changes and correlation with clinical response. Good first steps to understanding mechanistic relationships

"The big hope is to find active ingredients that would restore the functionality of disrupted mitochondria, in other words, to repair them in a sense. This would limit intestinal damage as a trigger for chronic inflammation processes," said Dr Dirk Haller.

Well, I got a 9/9 on the Boston score for bowel prep, so I did it in well much as it was massively annoying and tiring.
Better still, my Crohn’s is in clinical remission also, which is even better - more the result of restarting #lowdosenaltrexone than the steroids I’d wager, as it was not great after the latter. Either way good news.
Only concern is I have another check of my pancreas in 6 months due to a cyst that needs monitored.
There is always something with

As a veteran of colonoscopies, I’ve actually lost count, tomorrow’s is my 7th I think, this has to be the worst prep regime I’ve had yet. Usual drink of a litre of vile stuff 18:00-19:00 but the second lot is at 05:00-06:00 before the procedure at 08:30 - and I have to be in a taxi 06:15 to get there for 07:00. Not going to happen that. Will be later than 07:00 but last time there was a long time sitting about waiting anyway.
@emsquared absolutely. Reminds me I need to book a taxi for a week today for a hospital trip - colonoscopy fun. #crohns At least this time it’s paid for by the health service.
