Der Band enthält 9 wunderbare Storys von Wilkie Collins (1824-1889) über Verbrechen, Betrug, Liebe, Eifersucht und Mord in der viktorianischen Epoche. Der frühe Mit-Erfinder der Kriminalgeschichte beweist hier sein Können in spannenden, oft sehr komplex angelegten Storys.

Die (verbesserte) Übersetzung von 1901 passt bestens zur Epoche. Sehr empfehlenswertes Buch!
