Edward Norris Kirk, Presbyterian missionary, says we must love as the Good Samaritan (Luke 10) did. Be like Christ, seek the happiness of those whose character you hate. If that’s too much to ask, why would God allow you in heaven?
I often see the “without holiness” (Heb 12:14) applied to purity, but Kirk applies to love of enemy.
Today we’re asked to acquiese to cruetly cuz victim might be an enemy.

A.B. Simpson, C&MA founder, on Job 31:17, “if I have eaten my morsel alone”. Simpson repeats the curse of Job, and warns those of us who would be content with eating a morsel alone. He says we are more selfish than brute creatures, and our selfishness is worse than inhuman. Brutes themselves would be ashamed of our brutality. Ducks feed fish.

Samuel Charles Wilks, CoE evangelical, argues against slavery. It’s not a mere list of passages, but whole spirit of the Gospel condemns it. Examine Jesus’s life and love neighbor for God’s sake. This informs moral and religious duty.
You may know those diligent in devotions, with no love for the weeping neighbor. You have in no way contradicted Wilks here.
How can you drink deeply of that spirit of love to God, and to man 4 God’s sake?

James Hannington, Anglican Bishop, describes Special Mission to Zanzibar. Christian missionaries worked with liberated people and set up posts to suppress the slave trade.
Contrary to librul dogma, fighting slavery was key to these missions. And note that it does not appear the fighting was with giant cannons, or massive armies, but the gospel.
How can you spread a gospel that would suppress the slave trade? (vs. embolden enslavers?)
