Worth pulling out a few notes from my end-of-semester assessment:
I didn't just learn about the statistics of housing factors on Cape Cod, although I did learn a lot of those -- 36% non-winterization of housing in the region, 47% seasonal employment for many municipalities, some towns only inhabiting half the houses for year-round use because that's more economically incentivized (more rent $ from renting in summer than renting year-round)...

It was a gorgeous spring day today in SE Massachusetts! I took a nice long walk along the #CapeCod canal all the way to the end of this jetty that lines the entrance to the canal from the ocean. Looked for whales that had been active here lately, but no sign of spouts. Maybe they've just moved on to another spot. #FootpathFriday #ocean
Our four shelters in #Boston, #Methuen, #Salem, and Centerville on #CapeCod are participating, as are #Lowell Humane and MASS partners Berkshire Humane, #Worcester ARL, Boston Animal Control, Dakin Humane, and Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center.

People often shy away from these breeds because they believe they’re more difficult for kids to manage, but they’re actually more docile than some smaller breeds, and the ones in our care are super sweet!
