@davetroy The problem was never democracies "screwing with" the Chinese dictatorship, au contraire; it was the life-supporting, empowering, industrializing and financing that dictatorship, even helping them build their 'great firewall' and the totalitarian panopticon, that created the unrepenting behemoth now going for the jugular of democracy itself globally. 🤷‍♂️

The 1989 massacre should have seen all business with that regime ended for good.

Instead the #CCP got first the Most Favoured Nation priviledges from the USA in 1994 (!) and a welcome party to the WTO in 2000, no check or balances or backstops... 🤯

Day 30 cont 🗳️🇨🇳

“I don’t want there to be any concerns about this, and in the interests of full transparency, I’ve contacted the #AEC and the Department of Parliamentary Services and given them the details that I gave to #TheAge yesterday about my #relationship with those #volunteers and with Mr #JiJianmin I’ve said, look, if you’ve got any concerns, please investigate.”

cont

“[They’re] people who attended a dinner where a community leader [JiJianmin] said that he supported me and he supported my #values, and thought that I’ve been very #supportive of the community in recent years, and for that reason he thought people should #Support me now. I’m grateful for the support the Chinese Australians have given me in the last three years.”

I’ve got the nod from the #CCP.

this is massive, comprehensive and thorough investigation ICIJ had done. there is an acute need for a serious discussion about cozying up to Chinese gov't and how giving them incentives to increase influence in region will always backfire. they even cooperate with British far-right to achieve their goals!

hopefully one day Chinese people will be free from this marxist-leninist poison.

"As an artist, I dedicate most of my work to addressing issues in China and its ruling dynasty [...] The ruling elites adhere to a single model of governing the country and dislike change. At their core, they oppose free creativity and innovation, which are difficult to control. [...] In recent years, the Chinese government has threatened me multiple times through its embassies in Europe. They’ve even demanded the closure of my exhibitions."

“Volunteers wearing #MoniqueRyan campaign t-shirts have been captured on video saying a community organisation, which has historical links to the Chinese #Communist Party’s #ForeignInfluenceOperation, told them to vote for the teal MP.

In the footage, a woman says the instruction came from #JiJianmin, who is the president of the #HubeiAssociation, an organisation representing people from the Chinese province that has also been accused of working with the #UnitedFrontDepartment, a Chinese government agency that advances #CCP interests internationally.”

@abracadabra yeah and that is why #ccp #China laughs at him and they are more than capable of doing more than #Japan did for him to give the 90 days respite, but he will not be able to sign 151 new trade deals.
Now he even got tired of trying to get a peace in #Ukraine which he said he would fix in a day, then got up to 100 days and now he bored that #nazi #russia can't get everything, he will get as tired of the #tariff and find something else to bark about that he has no clue about.

“But speaking of gambling, #gambling is a behaviour where #people don’t think of the #consequences. And what this (#Labor) #government has done is gambled the #taxpayers’ money of Australia”

“We understand that the other side has a good heart, that they want to make #medicines cheaper. But to recklessly, recklessly cut the profits of small business owners, the #pharmacies working extremely hard, some of them have told me they’ve gone down to 30-40%. That gambling-like behaviour is simply not on.” — #ScottYung

seeing Taiwanese people joining Fediverse en masse is very heartwarming - especially with Bluesky/Turkiye fiasco

sending love and solidarity to people of Taiwan - you cannot and must not be abandoned alone against vile Chinese communist gov't ❤️ 🇹🇼

Day 20 cont 💰💰💰💰☢️🏭🏠🏘️⛪🕍📈📉👔👨🏻‍💼👩🏻‍💼

“A video shared thousands of times on a Chinese (#CCP) #SocialMedia platform claiming a re-elected #Albanese government would adopt “the far-left agenda” of the #Greens and potentially seize vacant homes was created by a member of a #WeChat group campaigning for the Liberal party in a marginal Melbourne seat.

The six-minute video, narrated by a woman who refers to herself as #AuntieGuoer, also claims any minority Albanese government that might rely on the Greens would “crackdown on the #MiddleClass” and lead to the #decline of “traditional #SocialStructures”.”

I see this is happening in the seat of #Aston and past Liberal seat of a political favourite of mine, #TudgyFudge 🤪🤣☺️ Given the subject matter I’d lay a bet this is the work of ex AFP Officer, #SandraBourke and #MatthewSheahan who now has removed all biographic links. Why?

Words cannot possibly express how #delighted I am to watch my worst #employer have #karma slap him in the face in real time. This is your #cummuppence #Zuckerberg. You're such a #hypocrite for going after #TikTok for #Chinese spying, while you were literally setting up #censorship tools for the #CCP. I look forward to seeing your stupid, #lizard face in #court again soon 😘.
