Very surprised SMU got in ahead of Alabama, but certainly not mad at all. I am not a #Bama parisian, but have some friends who are. The ACC deserves its due, and I almost wrote the ‘Big XII’ there, thinking that was SMU’s conference now. That would make more sense, but congrats to all in the CFP. #GoBoise! espn.com/college-football/stor

BAMA supplies 70% of the fruits and vegetables in Norway and claims to be “green”. But they’ve packaged a profit maximizing strategy as sustainability, and it is irksome.

Wrapping all vegetables in plastic and claiming it is “environmentally right” (miljøriktig) because of how well it works for the cucumber is pure spin.

The College Football Playoff is cast. Michigan vs. Alabama, and Washington vs. Texas in the semi-finals. I bear no grievance with #Bama, it was foreseeable they would not omit the mighty SEC. Florida State hath faced injustice, yet Texas did compete in the stronger conference and posits a compelling argument. In mine own preference, I would like for Washington to seize victory in the final season of the Pac 12, yet my actual prediction: ‘Bama. espn.com/college-football/stor

ESPN · CFP: Michigan, Washington, Texas, Alabama to vie for title - ESPNMichigan, Washington, Texas and Alabama will play in the College Football Playoff. Two-time defending national champion Georgia and unbeaten ACC champion Florida State were left out of the playoff.

Did you have a dark, twisted sense of humor while going to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in the mid-1980s? (What a delightfully niche demographic, by the way ...)

If so - or even if not - please enjoy the bizarre flashback of spectacle that was Bamaland, a strip in the school's paper, drawn and written by Walt Guthrie.

I'm only in half of that demographic. A friend discovered a spiral-bound photocophy at a used bookstore. We laughed until we cried. You kinda had to be there, but some of the quotes persist to this day.

Fair warning, though: many dark themes - content warnings and context for which is in the "About" section.

I like the premise, but Ramzee Robinson having butterfingers might not be The Play.

Chris Leak -- always given short shrift, I can't imagine why -- was 14 of 20 in that game. It was easy to scroll that video compilation. The play Gary Danielson discusses isn't in those #Bama-#Florida highlights.

They're just embedding what they found on YouTube -- to recap an interview they didn't conduct -- but if we're talking about seismic shifts in the #SEC ... get the play.
