Pottery by Osa<p>I read “Ways of Seeing” as a teen because Kim Gordon of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/SonicYouth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SonicYouth</span></a> mentioned it in an interview. I re-read it as a young adult, and was impressed by how the book complicated the idea of subjectivity in a way that echoed <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/feminist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>feminist</span></a> thought.</p><p>Now in my mid-40s, I’m at the age when it’s been about 20+ years since I’ve read certain seminal, formative texts and it feels like a good time to revisit them.
