Basically the storage and the compute need to occur on the same node. AWS released their managed <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Cassandra" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Cassandra</a> service during my tenure, and the <a href="https://press.coop/@nytimes" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@nytimes</a> opinion article detailing <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Amazon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Amazon</a>'s exploitative practices in <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#OpenSource</a> was published right before I left. Doug Whitfield [Minneapolis]Anybody have a good resource on explaining to customers have high writes can cause slowness on reads? It <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ApacheCassandra" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ApacheCassandra</a> if that is useful information, but I'm not sure it's a Cassandra problem. It seems like a pure disk bottleneck to me.
