hannah aubry<p>I started my new job at <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/AWS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AWS</span></a> this week. I never thought I'd say that —&nbsp;my first job in <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/tech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tech</span></a> was at DataStax, a leading contributor to <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/ApacheCassandra" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ApacheCassandra</span></a>. AWS released their managed <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Cassandra" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Cassandra</span></a> service during my tenure, and the <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://press.coop/@nytimes" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>nytimes</span></a></span> opinion article detailing <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Amazon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Amazon</span></a>'s exploitative practices in <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> was published right before I left. But since then, my new teammates on the open source strategy and marketing (<a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/OSSM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OSSM</span></a>) team have done amazing work shifting Amazon's <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/FOSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FOSS</span></a> posture.</p>
