I really liked the 2024 The Wages of Fear movie when I watched it earlier this week.

It’s a remake of a 1953 movie with the same name, which I vaguely remember seeing and liking as a kid.

But this movie doesn’t feel like a remake.

Nicely done everyone who worked on it.

I just watched True Lies for the first time since it came out. There are parts which cooked my gourd. Why was Schwarzenegger's partner so interested in the sex life of Schwarzenegger's 14-year old daughter? Why did the fake spy compare Jamie Lee Curtis's butt to a ten-year-old boy's? Gah! What the hell, writers?

The thing that irked me was Schwarzenegger's one-liner in the bathroom fight. He smashed the baddy's face into a urinal and instead of saying "Piss off," he said "Cool off."

It also did the sad cliche of all the bad guys being Middle Eastern.

The dance scene and the end battle are still fabulous and worth the watch. #TrueLies #movie #ActionMovie #SpyMovie

And now, continuing my Alien marathon, I skipped the original Alien (1979)(well, the best for the last) and I’m rewatching Sigourney Weaver on Aliens. This film begins a totally different way of seeing the franchise, now more focused on action and following the model of the military brutes of the 1980s armed to the teeth. It’s ok, but it’s not for me.
