Holy shit folks!</p><p>The Department of Health and Human Services is considering a rule that would remove gender affirming care from the list of Essential Health Benefits (EHB) from the <a href="https://beige.party/tags/AffordableCareAct" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AffordableCareAct</span></a> provisions, which means any health insurance connected to the <a href="https://beige.party/tags/ACA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ACA</span></a> Marketplace (such as <a href="https://beige.party/tags/medicaid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>medicaid</span></a> cannot cover GAC beginning in 2026.</p><p>Furthermore, it also penalizes states that do mandate GAC as a EHB by forcing them to reimburse health insurance groups that cover GAC.</p><p>All federal agency rule changes must first pass through a public comment and review period, with all public comments being mandated by law to be attached to the documentation of proposed rule changes. This HHS proposal is currently up for public comment, but news media is NOT reporting on it!
