@rchusid@med-mastodon.comIf seeing Biden both facilitating genocide in Gaza and destroy public health, allowing Covid to cause a mass disabling event, isn't enough to show how dangerous Vote Blue No Matter Who is, I don't know what will convince them. Right wingers are dangerous regardless of whether they have an R or a D after their name.
If genocide isn't enough to wake them up, I'm not sure anything ever will be.

@jaycee The alternative is opposing the duopoly. Your support for genocide is inexcusable and "But Trump* responses are ridiculous. Biden is as much a threat to freedom and democracy as Trump is, having spent his career restricting civil liberties, promoting war and mass incarceration. He has twice used a rigged system to get the nomination and has changed the rules to both protect himself from challenge and make it unlikely anyone but the party choice can win in the future.
@rchusid Ok, let me know what the CURRENT choices are? It IS a duopoly. That does need to change on both sides of the Atlantic. It’s a bit too late to change it for both countries before the next elections. Something to work towards at the next.
@jaycee The choice is to vote for or against the duopoly. Giving two choices which will do the same thing is a con to get people to go along and vote for one of them and give the illusion of democracy.
At this point we need to concentrate on attempting to get the Democrats to dump Biden, even though it is a long shot, rather than defending Biden because of the erroneous belief that Trump is worse. This only enables Biden to go further to the right & is why we are in this mess.
@jaycee Note I'm going by the situation in the United States. I have no idea how much this applies to your situation. Here, we would have been much better off if Trump rather than Biden had won in 2020.
With Biden winning, Democrats who would protested what Trump did have gone along with the same or worse when coming from Biden. People who knew Trump was lying when he advised against Covid precautions dropped them when Biden put out misinformation to stop masking, etc.
@jaycee We'd have far more protest re Gaza if Trump rather than Biden was doing it, and far more protest re Biden's far right moves re the environment and immigration.
Biden's successful change in primary rules to prevent challenges to himself and other establishment candidates will also do far more long term harm than Trump's unsuccessful coup attempt in 2020. Our best shot for change was in the primaries but Biden has shut this down for 2024 and beyond.
@rchusid I’m astounded that in a country with about 500 million residents these two are the best the US can come up with. So much for the ‘land of the free’. In the U.K. we aren’t much better due to the mass hero worship of all things US. It’s utter madness’

@rchusid same here, the Labour Party is run by a Zionist. He’s declared it to be ‘his’ Labour Party, anyone who has criticised Israel has been labelled antisemitic and ‘removed’ from the party. It’s both shameful and scary!
