Response to erroneous post by Shepgo who made misleading claims about pandemic being over and called criticisms of Biden's policies a conspiracy theory--and then blocked me so I can't respond. Response in post below:
@shepgo @sfwrtr They have ended the emergency but do not say the pandemic is over. It is no conspiracy theory to note that Biden decided politically that Dems would do better in the midterms by acting as if the pandemic was over. There was a clear effort to deceive, such as substituting the misleading Community Levels map for the Community Transmission map to guide masking. Also claims that masks not needed if fully vaccinated.
@rchusid@med-mastodon.com@shepgo @sfwrtr Contrary to his pandemic minimalization I also noted that not only are hospitalizations up but wastewater levels are up and Walgreens test positivity rate is up. Unfortunately we no longer have good data from the CDC but anecdotal reports from many physicians also indicate Covid is on an uptick.
