@rchusid@med-mastodon.comI only partially agree as if lab leak we still need to face growing risk of zoonotic illnesses with climate change and if Covid was zoonotic spread we also must guard against lab leaks.
I also wish we had better terminology to differentiate between legitimate discussion of accidental lab leak by scientists and the wild conspiracy theories of intentional creation and/or spread which make up the bulk of what I see on social media.

@rchusid Maybe "animal origin lab leak" versus "bioengineered origin."
(I know it should be "zoonotic origin lab leak," but the idea is to prevent people's eyes glazing over after the second syllable.)
I'm terrible at marketing. There are sure to be much catchier and more descriptive terms.
