@noodlemaz there is a lot of anti-immigrant and anti-foreigner sentiment in many places of the world these days, so it is important to point out that if someone is foreign or an immigrant, that has nothing to do whether they are a good person or not.
@eighthave that's absolutely not how I would phrase a statement if that were my purpose.
You'd just talk about him being an excellent citizen, caring about the people around him in his adopted home town. You do not need to highlight that the terrorist happened to have born in the same country, ffs.
@noodlemaz I totally agree. In this case, there was already so many people highlighting that the attacker had a Syrian passport that it is important to point out that savior also had a Syrian passport. Perhaps that's just the story the local media in Austria. I don't know so much how this was reported outside of Austria.
