THIS WAS PREVENTABLE! I felt unwell when I woke up Saturday. Instead of going to synagogue for #RoshHashanah, I tested for #COVID19. Positive.
Two weeks into the school year (where my daughter is one of a few who mask), and I attended two school board meetings as a trustee (where I was one of only two people masked).
Because others refused to listen to public health and #MaskUp, I now have to cancel 1-2 weeks of patients. (No, I will NOT work while sick or risk exposing any of my patients).
@nilikm Shana Tovah…hope you have a mild case.
@nilikm In circumstances such as these, I'm grateful to have the "masked smiley" emoji, but there's one thing the HellBirdSite has that this service doesn't (yet): the "two people hugging" emoji.
@nilikm
Thank you for being one of the few who care to mask up. I have seen too many nurses and doctors unmasked, and many laughing online that they go without mask - and while sick...
It is nice to see lne doctor who doesn't want people to die.
@nilikm
My condolences on having to go through this.
It's good that you're being vigilant and doing the right thing with regard to your patients.
@nilikm sorry to hear this. The only positive (no pun intended) is maybe you can rest. And come back swinging, like we’re used to seeing!
@nilikm I know how hard you've worked to keep yourself, your family, your patients, and your community safe. I'm truly so sorry to hear this (and I hope you're feeling well soonest).
@nilikm That test looks like you probably discovered the infection very early, so well done on your vigilance! Here's hoping you come through it quickly and safely.
@nilikm get well soon!
@nilikm so sorry. Refuah Shlemah & Shana tova
@nilikm
So sorry to hear this. I wish mask mandates were still in place considering the number of people who are currently ill.
@nilikm This is so frustrating. It’s not hard to mask.
@nilikm Ugh. Wishing for a quick recovery. We need you, in so many ways.
@nilikm@med-mastodon.com Wow. I'm so sorry. I worry a great deal what this winter is going to bring, since it seems few have learned any lessons from the peak of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
@nilikm Paxlovid was a game changer for my 44 year old daughter last month.
@nilikm I’m so sorry Nili. Hope you’re better soon.
@nilikm I'm so sorry. I'm so weary of the "individual responsibility" version of public health. It is not working.
@nilikm
Not fair! Get well soon and hopefully without a trace of this awful thing.
@nilikm I hope you recover quickly and completely. I thank you for masking, testing and staying home while ill.
I'm so sorry that you've caught covid. It is so hard to avoid when, as you said, governments don't support universal masking.
Hopefully, since you mask, you would have at least reduced your initial viral load and so will recover quickly.
Sending healing vibes and best wishes!
@nilikm Yup! Sounds so familiar. (Why are people???)
