The end of the walking school bus program in is upsetting, as education and school transportation are grossly underfunded. Yes, we should encourage active transportation (cycling, walking, etc). We must prioritize the environment as well as the health of the community. Also, transportation for special education and getting suburban/rural children to school are vital. All of it should be funded, IMO.
