Dr. Lucky Tran :verified:

Let's be clear here: If you mumble "people should get the measles vaccine" but then spend the rest of the interview saying "many vaccines aren’t safety tested," your position is still dangerously anti-vax.

Do not normalize RFK's deadly lies just because he'll say the bare minimum to keep his job.

@luckytran How anyone can listen to that voice is beyond me! He’s like a human pustule that speaks.

@luckytran You know a country is doomed when the health secretary sounds like he's taking his last breath.

@luckytran Has RFK Jr's voice been safety tested?

@luckytran Really worrying to me that this guy is responsible for the preventable deaths of so many children - not just this outbreak, but dozens of kids, in many outbreaks before - and all but one of the comments on this post so far is on a neurological voice condition that could happen to anyone.

It doesn’t stop being ableism just because the target is one of the most evil people alive. He’s monstrous because he’s willing to see children die for his ideology. Focus on that.

@luckytran
> your position is still dangerously anti-vax

*If* you are correct that vaccines are safe and effective. If you're wrong about that, then you're dangerously pro-vaccine. In other words, nobody who isn't already convinced of your position could possibly agree with it.

I find this frustrating, because we have the tools to share information here that might actually help someone adopt a more fact-based position. Instead we use it to shout dogma at each other.

@AnthonyJK

@luckytran Casual anti-vaxxers will not admit to it. They'll make exactly these kinds of mealy-mouthed excuses. I've heard, "I can't have the mercury" (which hasn't been in them for decades), as well as "It's these new ~experimental~ vaccines!" and my personal favourite (said like they were talking to a six-year-old), "I'm not *dirty*. I wash my *hands*" (which they were clearly coached/socialized into saying).

They're like transphobes. "I support trans ppl! But GTFO out of MY bathroom!!!"

@luckytran In a way he is guilty of promoting manslaughter.
