(Note that the long-term average, which is what climate policies are based off, is still below 1.5 degrees Celsius... but it won’t stay this way for long)

@lauxmyth @luckytran I was going to write the same message. It 'has moved, I.e., shifted". There is no turning back and don't believe in the gimmicks of carbon capture. Humans need to enjoy the ride down into the abyss that they created.
@lauxmyth @luckytran A chart based on the year 1850. We already know there were vineyards in medieval Scotland and that under the Arctic ice there is frozen grass and evidence of a temperate Arctic climate. These facts are not shown in the limited 1850 figures.

Your point? Here’s a chart on the timescale of hundreds of thousands of years. Never has there been a step change comparable to the effects of industrialisation.

Meh … 1850 is a good benchmark for the Industrial Revolution and the rise of rail. The graph shown does not show rates of change and for that is can be faulted. It does visually show the trends. The fact tropic or temperate biota were in present polar lands NOW is using orders of magnitude blocks of time.
@luckytran And the ecosysytems collapse is happening right now as well. My blog describes how SAI can cool the earth in 2 years and keep temperature steady even if CO2 keeps rising.
Risks are many times smaller than impact #climatechange and manageable

@luckytran climate always reacts with a delay.
In 5, and 10 years time, the graph is gonna look a lot worse even...
unless something unexpected happens of course.
