Once per week some random person asks me why I keep wearing a mask indoors in public. "The pandemic is over LOL!", they say.
This week the random person was my own director... who was also maskless. How to respond to that?
@glutto wish them well for their next infection, but tell them you don't like your body being used as a Petrie dish. You don't know about them, but you're too busy to get sick

@glutto @luckytran I always talk about how debilitated my wife is from long COVID and how I am trying to protect both of us. It is not a fun conversation, but I have never gotten push back from it.

@luckytran Today I received 4 vaccinations at @walgreens here on my tiny resort/retirement island in NE Flarda.
Who waits in line at a pharmacy?
Old people, sick people, + people carrying for sick people, 3 staff at counter.
Q: How many were masked?
A: 1. Me.
Glad everybody's getting vaccinated, but why not do this very simple thing, also?
It IS Flarda where masking is very unpopular.

@luckytran unfortunately health in Canada is a provincial matter. I wish all her provincial counterparts felt the same. Ours says handwashing is the best way to prevent Covid (denying paxlovid to ill under-80s; denying boosters to under-65s for the past year, even as almost all under 60 have been infected in or via schools in an attempt to build “robust hybrid immunity.”) We will learn about access to the new Moderna vax “in the coming months.” No masks in hospitals, either.
@mirijb2 @luckytran I came to say the same thing and now I don't have to. Dr. Tam masking isn't nothing but masks aren't required in BC hospitals
@luckytran Wow, a couple hundred people in frame all of whom are exactly the people from their whole countries who ought to know enough to mask at large indoor gatherings, and I spot four with masks.

Therefore, approximately 95% of the planet is insane.
This fits with my anecdotal experience.
