A dear friend is having a family health crisis, with relatives coming from hundreds of miles away to be at the bedside of the family patriarch.
I expect to get asked to translate from medical, to give explanations and orientation. But no -- today's first text was "at least this hospital system has mandatory #masking."
So thanks to #JohnsHopkins, and to any other hospitals that are protecting their patients and their communities with sensible mask policies.

A close friend going back decades is going in next week for transplant program entry. A week of tests, meetings, procedures in hopes of being 'fit' enough to get on the transplant list for a double lung operation for a genetic condition.
3 caregivers are needed for the patient post op, mostly just to chart and assist with simple things, one of the meetings gathers us all.
My role will be to help translate all to him, a knack for speaking to him in ways that comforts and explains. Been dubbed 'the science whisperer'.
There will be a parade of staff that week, and so help me if they don't do masking for him I'm gonna get assertive. Bought 30 N99s and 100 N95 auras and am going to advocate my little heart out for my friend.
We've been working on this all year, the chance a medical staff could inadvertently undermine his safety is chilling.
Hoping my friend is accepted into the program. Hoping your beloved finds their way through with your comfort & support too.
Hoping you and yours find health and comfort.
