Not sure about that, but:
IF the act of forgiveness is for your peace of mind,
AND re-inviting vulnerability to the same party would undercut your peace,
THEN forgiveness can be only part of the act.
Its ok to forgive & move forward *without* reinviting vulnerabilities from unchanged persons if the risk math doesnt work out.
@hannu_ikonen some bridges are worth closing until further notice, as burning a bridge can be a lot of effort.

Talked about this exactly with my therapist. Is forgiveness real if the forgiven is unaware?
