@gregggonsalves I recall how Donald Trump advanced a plan that would have given his political appointees unilateral authority to cancel all NASA programs - including all research grants - under the pretext of human lunar missions.
@gregggonsalves The Reagan tax-cut made my physics T.A. and R.A. jobs' pay taxable. We got by, and eventually the school could afford to raise the pay to nearly make-up the difference, but it was touch-and-go for a bit.
