@drhope it’s a little more nuanced than that - all patients deserve excellent, compassionate care. We draw an imaginary line between adults and children - a good example from my ED was a kid with a femoral shaft fracture who *didn’t* get a nerve block (stemlynsblog.org/through-the-l) and the same day a nurse asked what the upper age limit for EMLA for IV access was (there isn’t one). It’s a cognitive bias we need to overcome - our creative solutions can help all patients.
