The difference between adult and paediatric patients is an illusion.

@_nmay does it conclude with adults being big children? :D
@drhope it’s a little more nuanced than that - all patients deserve excellent, compassionate care. We draw an imaginary line between adults and children - a good example from my ED was a kid with a femoral shaft fracture who *didn’t* get a nerve block (https://www.stemlynsblog.org/through-the-looking-glass-chirocaine-vs-bupivicaine/) and the same day a nurse asked what the upper age limit for EMLA for IV access was (there isn’t one). It’s a cognitive bias we need to overcome - our creative solutions can help all patients.
@_nmay I was being slightly facetious - sorry!
but that is incredible, and infuriating. I wonder if people feel boxed in by guidelines?
but even with my v limited experience, there are so many tools for e.g. procedural pain that "aren't available" for adults
