Going to dye some #wool today. I can tell by the angle of the sun the #mulberry leaves will start to fade soon. So, I'm dropping everything to get this done before I don’t! I'm NOT ready for autumn! #dyeing #fiberarts
I am glad I heeded the advice to simmer the leaves outside. Stinky! #Dyeing
So, 30 minutes or so of simmering the #mulberry leaves and then I'm just going to turn the stove off and let it sit there.
It's hot today, so the #wool will dry fast. I rinsed it 5 or 6 times, dye was still coming out. Not sure what color yellow I would call this?
@SandHillThicket the first thing that comes to mind are spring chicks and daffodils.
@SandHillThicket it’s lemon curd buttercream icing

What colour will the mulberry leaf mix #dye the wool? Keen to see the final product as I spin #wool & have a mulberry tree too.
@Goimbla It should be some sort of green color. I'm going to wash and mordant my wool here in a little bit and dye the wool this evening.

Watching this thread with interest.
I know a little about dyeing with plants, but mulberry leaves are new to me.
Curious to see what colour you make
@ivyfox Me, too! I have no clue what color it will end up! Hoping for a shade of green!
@SandHillThicket
That's the magic!
