Whether fear, dislike, disinterest, or any number of other negative feelings, the care of teens is often undermined by the emotions clinicians bring with them into the room. You can't communicate well & get to know someone (let alone help them) if you are afraid or dislike them.
@DrRichardJChung Going through this right now with my 13 yo kiddo. She's usually the most sociable, bubbly, engaging kid, but she is recovering from #PANS #PANDAS with OCD and severe anxiety symptoms. The difference between the treatment she has received in the past and the treatment she is receiving now is sadly very evident. My kiddo no longer trusts her peds because she sees the difference, too.

@DrRichardJChung Thank you so much! We are seeing huge improvements after Cephalexin and Naproxen. Brain inflammation is a beast, but she's beating it! Truly amazing that an autoimmune response can cause neuropsychiatric symptoms.
