New lawsuit from Tesla owners who are seeing their odometers ( kilometer counters) falsely counting more distance driven to make warranties expire faster and save Elon Musk money.
And they wonder why we choose German cars over Teslas…
@randahl german cars are leaders in AI. Years ago they were able to detect when being put on a testing stand and faked their real emissions
@BavariaNephro @randahl That was "clever" but had nothing to do with AI. They were just a couple of simple businesses rules programmed into the engine management software.
@BavariaNephro @randahl Joke aside, German brands are leaders in automotive AI. The first brand to get approval for level 3 autonomy is Mercedes-Benz, the second one is BMW.
We're still waiting for Tesla to reach that stage, after years of promises.
@jkb @BavariaNephro @randahl none of these functions use AI though, simply because there’s no way to achieve homologation with AI features in Europe yet (that is also why Chinese manufacturers ADAS in EU is quite underwhelming).
I think the previous poster used AI as in “automotive industry”
